Redrow Midlands, which is currently building Amington Garden Village on Eagle Drive, presented team members at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Charity with the funds at a special cheque presentation on Thursday 12 September.
To raise the money, we held a charity golf day at Drayton Park Golf Club in Tamworth. The fun-packed event saw a total of 20 teams, each comprising four players, participating in 18 holes of golf. Guests could also enter a lucky dip and bid at a unique silent auction, both of which contributed to the amount raised.
Our Midlands team chose to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity as a cause close to their hearts, with several team members having personally benefitted from the hospital’s services.
The city centre-based children’s hospital is a leading specialist paediatric centre, offering expert care to more than 100,000 children and young people from across the country every year.Katie Harris, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re so grateful to Redrow Midlands for choosing to support our hospital with their fantastic golf day. They raised a phenomenal amount which will help us create better experiences for countless young people and sick children, through the improvement of our hospital environment and helping to fund new equipment and research.”
Stuart Payne, Construction Director for Redrow Midlands, said: “This cause is deeply personal to some of our employees, who have directly benefited from the hospital's services and understand the critical impact it has on families in need."
“It is our pleasure to be able to give such an amazing amount to help the hospital help others. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the invaluable support of Redrow's sub-contractors and suppliers, for which we are deeply appreciative, and our secretary, Natalie Gillingwater, who organised the event.”
“We hope the funds will play a vital role in enabling the hospital to continue its exceptional care and we plan to hold another event next year to raise further funds for the charity.”
Amington Garden Village offers a choice of two, three and four-bedroom properties. These sought-after homes are part of our award-winning Heritage Collection and are located just three miles from Tamworth’s town centre.
