Redrow gifts new outdoor signage to Chester hospice

27th June 2024
Redrow News - Hospice Signage

Signage at The Hospice of the Good Shepherd has been given a revamp thanks to Redrow’s team of Interior designers.

The new signs were created to guide patients, outpatients and visitors around the hospice in Backford, Chester.

“As part of our ongoing support for the hospice we collaborated to refresh their external signage and capture new branding,” said Helen Joseph, from Redrow’s in-house interiors team.

Helen carried out the project work during two annual volunteering days, gifted to her as part of our volunteering pledge for all employees.

“The hospice is an amazing place and does so much to care for patients and their families. I’m so pleased we could help them in this small way to continue to provide such a superb service. A huge thank you to our partners at marketing agency ThinkBDW who also helped to make this possible.”

The signage donation comes just 12 months after Redrow’s interior design team undertook a makeover of the hospice’s outpatient waiting room and café area.

Part of the ‘Living Well outpatient area’, the waiting room supports a wide range of services including social activities, bereavement counselling, consultant appointments, psychological and spiritual support.

The revamp of the café included the addition of a gallery wall with a large collection of artwork to reflect the people who stay, volunteer or work at the hospice.

Commenting on the new signage, Rhian Edward, chief executive at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, said: “What was old and tired is now fresh, new, and most importantly provides much better direction and clarity for all visitors.

“Redrow continue to be such fabulous supporters to the hospice. From the bottom of my heart, and I know this will be the same sentiment for the rest of the staff at the hospice, thank you so much.”

The hospice provides palliative care for people living in Chester, rural Cheshire, Ellesmere Port and Deeside with a life limiting condition, alongside complementary therapies and bereavement counselling for adults and children. Just 17% of the hospice’s funding coming from the Government, so the hospice must raise over £5 million every year through fundraising, events and donations.
