The group received money from our community fund, linked to Hilton Grange, that they have used to purchase club clothing and kits, vital training aids, expert coaching sessions, and entry into external competitions—ensuring junior players have every opportunity to excel.
Mick Knowles, junior organiser at the club, said: “We have a commitment to recognising our young golfer’s achievements, so the fact that we’ve been able to purchase new trophies is a great result. By investing in the next generation of players, the golf club can continue its legacy of nurturing talent and fostering a love for the sport.”
The junior section has approximately 40 members aged between 12- and 17-year-old boys and girls. They play weekly competitions on a Sunday and are involved in a junior league and compete with several clubs around the region. In addition to this they are involved in national competitions as well.
Anna Evans-Kerr, sales director at Redrow NW, said: “Golf is a game for life and is an important route to sustained fitness. The junior section of all golf club is the place where valuable life lessons are communicated in a fun and safe space so we’re so pleased our donation has been a huge help.”
The money received by the golf club came from Redrow’s £10,000 Halewood community fund that has been shared between 12 groups and good causes close to its Hilton Grange development.
