Beechwood Avalanche Netball Team, who practice at St Chad’s High School in Runcorn, were given £500 from the our Daresbury Community Fund.
Team manager, Lisa Watcham, said: “We’d had our old kit for four years, so we were in need of some new dresses. Our players are aged between 15 and 16 years old so they want to look the part on the court plus they seem to grow overnight so the new dresses have solved that problem so were thankful to Redrow.”
Beechwood Netball welcomes players from a range of ages across 25 teams, starting from age four up to and including adults/seniors and has been running in the Runcorn area for 20 years.
Lisa continues: “This is great for the girls to be involved with, it helps them make new friends, be sociable and gives them something to work towards. The passion and drive the girls show week in week out irrespective of winning or losing makes me a very proud manager and I think the new kits will help them feel proud to play.”
Beechwood Avalanche play in the Warrington Sports for all Junior U17s Division 1 League.
Area sales manager for Redrow NW, Chris Edwards, said: “Grass roots teams generally struggle to get any funding for things like new kits and equipment, so they have to find their own sponsors. We’re really pleased we’ve been able to help them out, it’s what our community funds are designed to do.”
Redrow has shared between nine groups and good causes local to Daresbury Garden Village. To find out more about the homes they’re building, visit Gleaves View, Daresbury Garden Village.
