“We have aspired to own a Redrow house for quite some time… all good things come to those who wait!” said Greg.
“We knew this time it was Redrow or nothing, but choosing the right type of house and the location was key.”
The couple opted to purchase their new home at Round Hill Gardens, located on Manchester Road. The 64-acre development will eventually feature 454 new homes, offering a wide selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom designs split across two phases: Woodlands and Blossoms.
“Round Hill Gardens really does have the wow factor, with the sweeping entrance and the green open space as you enter the development and the distant tips of the peaks in view,” said Greg, who works in marketing.
“This really was the development in Congleton we wanted to move to, we knew this had to be home!”
Greg and Guy, who works in finance, had previously lived in the town before making the move to Staffordshire.
“This is our third new build,” said Greg. “We like to purchase new due to the lack of maintenance required and energy efficiency of the homes; it’s a no brainer for us.
“We did look at other developments in Chester and Whitchurch, but we knew our heart belonged back in Congleton. We missed the greenery surrounding the town and the fact that we go to meet up with friends at Congleton Market Quarter and other nice pubs and restaurants.”
The couple chose the three-bedroom Somerford property, which boasts a kitchen/dining area that extends the entire width of the property at the rear, along with a separate lounge and cloakroom. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, the main with en-suite, and a family bathroom.
“We chose the Somerford as it was the perfect balance between what we needed and what we wanted to achieve generally. The size of the house is similar to what we had before, but the layout works much better for us,” said Greg.
“The kitchen is my favourite room in the house with its view out to the garden. The light that floods through the large windows even on gloomy days makes all the difference. The kitchen is a great social space, that will come into its own during the summer months and especially now we have our garden makeover!
“We have gone for a Mediterranean themed garden, designed by Guy, he has always enjoyed designing gardens. The inspiration came from the stone cills on the house and the entrance pillars that separate the pavement from our property. It really is an extension to our home.”
Greg added: “The buying process was made easy by our solicitors and the on-site team at Redrow including Ellie, Abby and Lyndsey who were all amazing. Whilst we are very aware of the new build buying process, to sum this move up, it was friendly, smooth, painless and efficient.
“We have already noticed a huge difference in our energy bills, dropping by about 20% from our previous property, which is saying something as our last house was only two years old!
“Everyone is so friendly here at Round Hill Gardens, all the residents chat to each other, it has a lovely feel. We’re so pleased to be back.”
