To celebrate the season of love, we called on our homeowners to explain the story of how they fell head over heels for their new build homes and our Redrow developments .
A new home and wedding bells in Halewood
Emma and Jack were so set on buying their dream Redrow home they joked to the sales team that, if they got it, they’d invite them to their wedding.
So, after saying “I do” to their ‘perfect’ property at The Finches at Hilton Grange, they immediately issued invitations to the ceremony and celebrations.
Emma said: “I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I love the way the new houses look, and the way the new developments are planned and presented with trees and lots of green spaces. I like the high ceilings and deep skirting boards inside the homes, so it was really important to me that the first home we bought together was a Redrow.”
A future-proofed home in Lower Stondon
Celene and her husband, William, moved into their first new build home , a three-bedroom Letchworth, at Stone Hill Meadow, after previously living in a grade one period property.
The couple were attracted to the energy-efficient features of our new homes , which boast innovative low-carbon technology, and include cost-effective initiatives to help customers save on their bills.
Celene said: “We were so excited to move into a new property with an air source heat pump that had an underfloor heating system, especially after living in a grade one listed property which was not energy efficient at all. We had seen so much about heat pumps in the news and knew we wanted a property with one to future-proof our home. They are the future, after all! Going from a period property to a new build with an air-source heat pump has been like going from one extreme to another. Not only is it considerably cheaper to heat our home, but we also don’t need to look at any unsightly radiators – plus our feet stay toasty on frosty, winter mornings with the under-floor heating!”
Celene loves her new home so much that she has started documenting her first-time buyer journey, including her interior design plans and house updates, on her Instagram account, @stonehill_meadow.
A home to love in Lowton
Jane and Doug were looking to relocate from a three-bedroom home in Liverpool to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren, and to find somewhere to live where Jane didn’t feel so isolated. They bought a Stratford at our Oakwood Fields development in Lowton.
“We loved the traditional look (of the Stratford) from the outside, and the fact that it was really modern inside. We really liked the high ceilings and the layout of the home, although for me the best bit of the house is the back - it’s the best kitchen I’ve ever had,” said Jane.
Couple find ‘paw-fect’ pad near Preston
Gareth Irwin and Charles Officer, 43, decided it was time to step on to the property ladder with space for their furry family member.
“We visited Tabley Green first where we met Redrow sales consultant Sofia Delgado,” said Gareth. “We took our dog Alfie with us for the viewings and Sofia let Alfie join us, and we carried him around with us on the tour of the show homes. Unfortunately, other developers wouldn’t let us bring Alfie in, that’s when we knew Redrow were the developers for us!”
They set their hearts on the Oxford Lifestyle, with three luxurious bedrooms, each with their own en-suite and bought with the help of a deposit contribution and support from our recommended solicitors.
Gareth added: “I am so happy with our home, we have so much more space and when Charles is working from home, we now have office space rather than working from the kitchen table.
“I do have two favourite rooms, the first is our bedroom. I love the size of it. We have a walk-in wardrobe and a big bathroom. I also love our kitchen; the sun comes shining through the windows, it’s so bright. We open up the doors into the garden and it’s so lovely.”
It must be love in Daresbury
Tony and Amanda set out with an open mind as they began the hunt for a new house together – but as soon as they viewed our show homes at Daresbury Garden Village, the decision was made.
“Nothing was pre-decided in our minds, but as soon as we saw the Leamington Lifestyle show home, we fell in love with it and the area,” said Tony.
“It was the three bedrooms upstairs which really impressed us for when family and friends come to stay; they’ve each got their own bathroom, and it makes it more homely and gives everyone privacy.”
Rightsizing into a home we love in Nottingham
Alan and Patricia were delighted to finally find a home that was just right for them at our very own Newton Garden Village development in Nottingham. They love their Leamington Lifestyle that suited their needs perfectly.
Alan said: “The location and layout of the development is brilliant, and we loved that the home, although new, still offered the 1930s charm and character we saw in our very first home, but with the convenience and cost-saving efficiencies of a modern build.
“The quality of the build was superior to anything else we had looked at, and we found Redrow’s unique lifestyle properties really appealing – it was something we hadn’t seen before.”
Love at first sight, again, in Hartford
Nic and Sarah had previously bought a Redrow home in Maghull, Liverpool, and when they decided to move closer to their jobs in Crewe and Manchester, there was no doubt that they wanted another property from us.
This time round the couple decided on a four-bedroom Cambridge at Redrow Hartford.
“The Oxford Lifestyle was great because it had fewer but larger bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. For the next stage of our lives, we wanted to be able to use one bedroom as an office and have spare bedrooms for family. What we loved about the Cambridge was the kitchen, dining and living area at the back of the home. We spend most of our time in this room but as we go into the winter months, I think we’ll make more use of the lounge as it’s cosy,” said Nic.
First time love in London
There are many things to fall in love with about your first home, and for Kamal and Haya a big factor was the strong sense of community at Colindale Gardens.
Kamal said: “The neighbourhood really stood out to us. Colindale feels like a place that has been reborn and has a new spirit. There are a lot of families, green spaces, outdoor exercise spaces and playgrounds. You see a lot of people out and about. These little things really show that this is a place where you come to live and enjoy.
“It’s also really diverse in terms of people’s background, age and gender. You get a wonderful sense of community living here.”
