At Redrow Midlands, currently building new homes at Amington Garden Village on Mercian Way, we presented Garden Village Primary Academy with a £250 donation for new school supplies to celebrate its first ever term. The school, which opened this September, was also provided with a hedgehog home and pop-up library for children to enjoy in the school’s garden.
The hedgehog home will provide a safe haven in which the loveable creatures can rest, hibernate or raise their young. Meanwhile, the pop-up library will offer the opportunity for children to choose and swap books with one another to broaden their imaginations.
Sonia Burke, Head Teacher at Garden Village Primary Academy, said: “We’d like to thank Redrow Midlands for its kind donation as we settle into life within the Amington community.
“The funds will help us to purchase many new books for our wonderful new library for the children to enjoy and enhance their reading for pleasure now and for years to come. The hedgehog home was received with much enthusiasm by our pupils, who can’t wait to make a home for it in the forest school area and will no doubt be on the lookout for any new visitors!”
Redrow Midlands is dedicated to supporting local communities in and around its developments.
Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director at Redrow Midlands, said: “We are passionate about supporting the next generation and those who teach them the skills they need to live happy and fulfilling lives.
“We’re very proud to be part of this wonderful community in Amington and being involved in helping local schools to thrive. It was great to see how excited they were to receive the hedgehog home, and to gain a greater understanding of how important it is to care for wildlife in the area.
“We look forward to continuing to support the pupils and teachers at Garden Village Primary Academy in their future endeavours.”
