The book swap box we've installed has been a popular addition to the new development and local school children from Sutton Green Primary School paid it a visit ahead of World Book Day.
We have also donated £200 in book vouchers to the school to boost its library and help restock its reading hut, which the housebuilder donated and installed last year in the school’s grounds.
Redrow NW sales director Anna Evans-Kerr said: “The book swap box has been a wonderful addition to Ledsham Garden Village. Residents are encouraged to leave books they no longer need and take new ones. The community have come together to ensure it is kept tidy and well stocked.
“We were delighted to welcome pupils from Sutton Green Primary School as part of their World Book Day celebrations. We hope it inspired them to keep visiting with their families and embrace a love of reading all year round.”
Alice Millington, key stage two and English Lead at Sutton Green Primary School said: “The children really enjoyed visiting the book box at Ledsham Garden Village and swapping some of their own books for new ones. It’s great to have a mini library in the heart of this new community and wonderful to see the children so inspired to read. Thanks to the new book vouchers from Redrow we can also add some brand new books to our school library and outdoor reading hut.”
