The donation has provided 13 jackets, including two for the team mascots, ensuring the girls are warm, comfortable, and unified as they take to the pitch this season.
The support from our South East division comes at a significant time for girls' grassroots football, which has seen a surge in popularity across the region. The team has proudly been wearing their jackets to training on Saturdays and matches every Sunday as part of the Kent Girls and Ladies League.
The donation was made as part of Redrow South East’s Community Fund which launched last year. Our donation reflects its commitment to supporting local communities, particularly in helping young people thrive through grassroots sports. With several players, including Eva and her teammate Raven, living in our Manor Park development, the partnership is a perfect fit.
Ollie Jackson, Medway United coach, whose daughter Eva plays for the side, shared his gratitude for the donation. “Girls’ football in Medway has grown so much – it’s fantastic to see how far we’ve come. What used to be an occasional game every few weeks is now a weekly highlight for the girls. The jackets have given them a real sense of pride and belonging as part of a team.”
“We’re proud to support Medway United Under-9s Girls’ Football Team and play a role in nurturing grassroots sport in the area,” said Stuart Galloway, Sales Director at Redrow South East. “By backing initiatives like this, we’re helping to ensure young girls in Medway have the opportunity to play, develop confidence, and enjoy being part of a team.”
Medway United Under-9s Girls’ Football Team had an unbeaten season last year and continues to enjoy travelling across Kent to compete in the league, where their focus is on fun and camaraderie rather than just the final score. Thanks to our support, the girls can now represent their club in style, whatever the weather.
Redrow South East boasts several energy-efficient developments across Kent designed with modern family living in mind. Prices for three and four bedroom homes at its Temple Woods development start at £432,000.
