Redrow donates £1,000 to end-of-life charity

10th April 2025
Redrow - News - Anne Robson Trust

Redrow South Midlands has donated £1,000 to a local charity that provides companionship to people in their final days.

Redrow South Midlands, currently building at The Steeples, on Stevenson Cresent, presented Anne Robson Trust with a donation of £1,000 as part of its annual Community Fund initiative.

Now in its sixth year, Redrow South Midlands’ Community Fund aims to support local organisations across Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, with donations to help them continue to thrive and offer services to their local communities.

The Anne Robson Trust supports healthcare organisations by arranging for teams of volunteers to visit patients at the end of their life, helping to ensure that no one spends their final days alone. Many of the healthcare organisations that the Anne Robson Trust work with support around than 300 people every year, by offering companionship, a listening ear, or simply a hand to hold for those in need as they reach the end of their lives.

Our £1,000 donation will be used to launch the programme at Sobell House Hospice, and will help recruit, train and support new volunteers.

Jason Hodges, Fundraising Manager at the Anne Robson Trust, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Redrow South Midlands for this generous donation, which will help us cement a new team of compassionate volunteers in Oxfordshire. At the Anne Robson Trust we are dedicated to ensuring that patients receive the kindness and companionship they deserve – so thank you Redrow.”

Andrew Newman, Sales Director at Redrow South Midlands, said: “We’re proud to be helping the Anne Robson Trust ensure that support and companionship is given to those reaching the end of their lives. Everyone deserves a hand to hold, and we’re honoured to help lay the groundwork for this vital service as it launches a new programme at Sobell House Hospice.

“With each volunteer offering the gift of unhurried time – reading a favourite book, playing a cherished song, or simply sitting in quiet companionship – this project ensures that no one faces life’s final chapter alone.

“We’re so pleased to be able to offer our support for such a worthy and important cause.”

Located in the heart of Oxfordshire and within reach of world-class culture and history, Redrow South Midlands’ The Steeples is the perfect place to call home. At the Steeples only seven homes remain, offering a variety of three and four-bedroom homes, starting from £575,000.
