Redrow South Midlands, currently building at Alconbury Weald II, on Senliz Road, Huntingdon, presented CARESCO with a donation of £1,000 as part of its annual Community Fund initiative.
Now in its sixth year, Redrow South Midlands’ Community Fund aims to support local organisations across Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, with donations to help them continue to thrive and offer services to their local communities.
CARESCO is a small, self-funded charity that exists to improve the lives of residents in Sawtry and 14 surrounding parishes. The area is rural and offers limited public transport, meaning isolation is common. Helping to combat this loneliness and disconnection, the charity encourages greater relationships within communities and aims to improve mental and physical health by providing a day club, workshop, community schemes and support groups.
Our £1,000 donation will be used to help fund the charity’s significant running costs, helping staff and volunteers continue to provide their invaluable services across the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Denise Pike, Grants Officer at CARESCO, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Redrow South Midlands for this generous donation, which will help us to continue our meaningful services in the local area. This includes our day club which provides a hot lunch for local people, CAVE Workshop, Chatterbox Carers and Sounds Good Music groups and our community support and connection services such as The Sawtry Eye magazine, which is delivered free to local villages.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that no one feels isolated in our community and this donation will really go a long way – so thank you Redrow.”
Andrew Newman, Sales Director at Redrow South Midlands, said: “We’re proud to be helping CARESCO ensure that support and companionship is given to those who may otherwise feel isolated from their community. Everyone deserves a helping hand, and we’re honoured to support this extremely beneficial service as it continues to grow.
“With each initiative offering the gift of connection – including a lunch club and minibus service running four days a week, and weekly strength and balance classes – this charity ensures that no one faces life alone.
“We’re so pleased to be able to offer our support with a Community Fund donation for such a worthy cause.”
