Redrow South West, currently building at Blundell’s Grange, in Tiverton, presented the team at Heathcot Cricket Club with a donation of £1,000 as part of its Community Fund initiative. The club, based at Knightshayes Court in Tiverton, has provided junior and senior team members with an opportunity to get involved in sport and make new friends – all while improving their mental and physical wellbeing.
Since it was founded in 1921, the club has grown to more than 400 members. Offering cricket for children from four years old upwards. With four senior teams on a Saturday, all ability levels are covered, as well as growing girls and ladies’ sections.
Our donation will be used towards helping the club grow further, supporting team practices with brand new equipment including cricket balls, bats, and stumps to improve training sessions.
Now in its second year, Redrow South West’s Community Fund aims to support local organisations across Devon, Oxford, Bristol, Exeter and Gloucestershire, with donations to help them continue to thrive.
Pete, Junior Chairman at Heathcot Cricket Club, said: “We are delighted and honoured Redrow chose to support us at this time.
“After the devastating loss of our clubhouse last year, we have so much to replace ahead of the new cricket season. This kind donation has allowed us to invest in new stumps, training stumps, a catching cradle, mitts, bats and training balls. None of this would have been possible without Redrow's generous support.
“If playing is just a little beyond you, the general public is welcome to come and support us and enjoy our scenic location, the temporary bar will be open when most matches are on. We look forward to welcoming people along in the months ahead.”
Sian Smith, Sales Director at Redrow South West, said: “We’re delighted to be helping Heathcot Cricket Club purchase brand new equipment for their junior and senior teams to support with their training. “The work the club does with Tiverton youngsters has become an invaluable part of the local community. We’re pleased to be able to offer our support and look forward to seeing how our contribution will help to create a wonderful cricketer’s community close to Blundell’s Grange.”
