Redrow South West, currently building at Tascroft Rise on St Andrews Road, launched a hunt for imaginative ‘Archi-tots of the future’ to design their very own house of the future as part of our 50th birthday celebrations.
Elspeth, from Minster C of E Primary School, created a home which featured a gardening room with a watering can that waters plants itself, a trampoline instead of stairs for a quicker way upstairs, and a slide down from the top floor straight outside.
The home impressed the our judging panel based on its well-thought-through, quirky design, and focus on bringing the outdoors inside.
As Redrow South West’s new ‘Archi-tot’, Elspeth, has been awarded a prize of £100. As well as her prize, Minster C of E Primary School will also receive artwork vouchers worth £150 to encourage all her classmates to get creative too.
Sian Smith, Sales Director for Redrow South West, said: “To celebrate our 50th year of housebuilding, we’ve been looking to the future by calling on Warminster’s most creative young talent to imagine what a home will look like in 2074 – 50 years from now."
“We’re passionate about inspiring the next generation, so our competition was designed to encourage young people to take an interest in design and construction. We are delighted to name Elspeth the winner – we had lots of fantastic entries, but Elspeth’s creativity really stood out."
“At Redrow, we strive to be at the forefront of design and innovation and are committed to building responsibly – and we were so impressed that our values were reflected in Elspeth’s design that they just had to be the winner."
“We've no doubt Elspeth has a promising architect career ahead of her should she choose to, and we’re sure they’ll be living in a home just like their design, fifty years from now!”
